About
Dr Rakesh Singh
Biography

Dr Singh practises cosmetic and restorative dentistry at McGrath Dental & Implant Clinic on The Quadrant in Hoylake. He has been mentored by leading clinicians (among them Liam McGrath, Matt Parsons and Jaz Gulati) and has travelled to learn from some of the best operators in the field.
His work covers two things that need much the same discipline: minimally invasive smile makeovers for people who want to change how their front teeth look, and the rebuilding of mouths that have worn down or been heavily restored over decades. He treats adults of any age from 18 upwards.
A good deal of that work is with nervous patients, and with people who have not seen a dentist in a very long time. Nothing is done at a first appointment beyond looking and talking, and sedation is available in-house where it would help.
He plans and carries out his own cases from the first consultation through to the review, and photographs them at every stage. The photographs are how a result gets assessed honestly: against where it started, rather than against a memory of it.
What to expect
The smallest change that will actually work
Preparing a tooth cannot be undone. Where alignment, whitening or bonding would achieve what you want, that is what gets offered, even when it is the smaller piece of work.
Nothing starts before you have agreed the plan
Design, sequence and fees are set out in writing. Where a result can be trialled before it is committed to, it is.
An honest answer about what is not possible
Some things cannot be achieved, or cannot be achieved the way you had in mind. That is worth hearing at the consultation rather than discovering later.
No judgement about how long it has been
People put off going to the dentist for all sorts of reasons, sometimes for many years. The appointment starts from where you are now.
Start with a consultation.
An examination, a conversation about what you would like to change, and a written plan to take away.
